Dead Slate Studios formed from a young group of film school graduates, who together, took the initiative to take their passion one step further.
We back young and emerging creatives, because we ARE young and emerging creatives. Dead Slate Studios sees emerging narratives and offers an empowering platform for creatives to share their stories, express their vision, and lead their projects with support.
My name is Aimee De Saint Laurent, and I have the privilege of heading Dead Slate Studios.
Since studying production at South Seas Film and Television School in 2023, I was asked to run Dead Slate Studios at the start of 2024. I found this to be a huge compliment but also incredibly daunting. With no prior experience and a team of people behind me, I wondered: What can I do to make this a company my team is not only proud to be a part of but also a company that I am honored to lead.

I believe Dead Slate Studios is the start of something amazing. The talent behind the camera and the sheer passion the crew radiates whenever they tackle a project is nothing short of inspiring.
Connecting with like-minded creatives, offering support to communities to share our passion and ignite young minds, and creating opportunities for local directors to tell their stories are things I would never trade, nor give up easily. This job is immensely humbling, unforgiving, and hard, but it is also impactful, invaluable, and priceless.
